What are your favourite old skool anime titles released in the 90's? Might be able to get some released on DVD by Madman if some are pretty popular. Ok I'll start.

Macross Plus
Gunbuster
Roujin-Z
Lupin The 3rd releases
Digital Devil Story
Iczer 1
Zeoraima
Dominion and New Dominion Tank Police
Venus Wars
Angel Cop
Crying Freeman
Wicked City
Ninja Scroll
Battle Angel Alita
Patlabor 1&2
Devilman
Teknoman
Junk Boy
3x3 Eyes
Legend of the 4 Kings
Cyber City Oedo 808
A Wind Named Amnesia
Ghost In The Shell
You're Under Arrest

What are some of your faves?

It doesn't say I can't in the FAQ otherwise I wouldn't have put it up. Is it a crime to show my Anime love in a sig? Anyway you could have PM'ed me you know, cause I wanna discuss old skool Anime here, not sig rules.

Would like to know your fave old skool anime though mate! Very Happy

You apparently don't want to discuss anything. You just want to list things; a good chunk of which aren't from the 90's.

Macross Plus is pretty close to the top, however. Beautiful animation and a brilliant haunting soundtrack that sticks with you. The plot isn't half bad, and if you can manage to include a convincing broken love triangle without making everyone whiny or it seems contrvied, well kudos.

I really haven't managed to catch all that much nineties anime. Of course there's the biggies that Madman has, Cowboy Bebop and Neon Genesis Evangelion.

There was also the stuff SBS showed, Bubblegum Crisis Tokyo 2040 in particular. Unfortunately, my memory of those showings aren't good enough to make a call on it. I remember Patlabor 3 (was that 90s?) and I quite like that.

The first season of You're Under Arrest was also a 90s show. It's great, but there's virtually no character development and no through-story, which is how I generally prefer my anime.

I do prefer the traditional cel drawing and paint used in older anime compared to nowadays when nearly everything is done on the computer.

Its in the first line of the Signature Rules thread....

Quote:
First off, the big one: No images in sigs. We took a vote, and the general will of the Madboards community said they didn't want it, so we don't have it. Signatures that contain images will be removed, and users will be warned

Anime from the 90's... I would say Cowboy Bebop is really the only one I have seen and liked from the 90's.

Your lack of taste is quite intriguing.

(Not that Cowboy Bebop is bad, it's fantastic, but ****, the entire decade and one show? That's just sad.)

Bleah, how could I forget Rurouni Kenshin.

Top anime. Just a pity they quit adapting the manga before the end.

Anyone still remember the Cyber City Oedo 808 and Space Adventure Cobra soundtracks from the Manga VHS releases? That was sex.
