Rejoice! The 10/10/10 promo is back!

We’ve made a few changes to stop the internet breaking, but NOBODY PANIC! We’re still talking $10 a disc.

Here’s what you need to do:

1) Sign up to the Madman mailing list of your choice. www.madman.com.au/newsletters
2) Sit back, relax and wait for your code to arrive in your inbox.

The code will show up in the next week and you’ll have a limited amount of time to use it, but again DON’T PANIC! It’s gonna be run a tad longer than last time so everyone can file through the site in an orderly manner.

The code expiry will be in the email along with all the other conditions.

Love Madman

Jeez, I got some dodgy payment instructions from the MM site and, resultantly, the biggest of my Sunday orders was lost to the abyss (still got 2 others that were paid via CC though). So it seems I shall be taking up the sword once more to reclaim what is rightfully mine!

Though since I have had another payday since then, I'mma be extra tempted to buy even more!

I usually get the E-Mails Madman sends me about movies and DVD releases, so hopefully I'll get the code sent to me.

I suppose it couldn't hurt to sign up again if need be.

I was already signed up, but I've just signed up my wife as well, so we can double dip if we want. Wink

It'll just make it a little easier to do a couple of smaller orders, than a huge "one" only. Not trying to rort the system really, but if we have a little time to do the orders in, then having two coupons will let us split our orders and give us a little more money (and time) to pay for it all.

I'm guessing this code we'll receive, is one that we'll have to apply at the checkout?

So does that mean every item originally added to our carts will be full price, then the discount will alter the prices?

I wasn't able to check out everything on the sale, so I don't know all the prducts that were on special. So I'm guessing we just add anything we want into the cart at first. Then apply the discount code, whatever doesn't get reduced; we get rid of from the cart before making the order?

Is that how this new sale works?

As far as I can remember, everything in the Madman catalogue, up to the last 3 months, was up for $10 per disc. That means anything released AFTER June is NOT included.

However, I seem to recall seeing some of the people who managed to get orders in on Sunday saying that there were some collections (Elemental Gelade was one, I believe) that was coming up as $10 for the whole slimpack.

Guess we'll simply have to wait and see what happens, but I get the feeling, you'll simply apply the coupon code and it will automatically alter the price for the items before you pay.

Some $10 collections that I remember seeing are Paranoia Agent and Wolf's Rain, and I'm sure there were others>

I assume the conditions are the same as last time? ie. products after 31st July not eligable, no BluRay, etc.

Arigato Madman Smile

You've done a good job, despite all the issues that occured. For a start actually running promotions like this in the first place is a big win for the consumers, not to mention the constant communication, even when things were exploding all around you. The aftermath of the problems were handled well, proven by this second bite of the cherry!

I just hope this whole ordeal hasn't caused epic promotions like this to cease in the future...

According to facebook it was anything after 30 June 2010

The exclusions was actually supposed to include all July products

Does anyone have a list of these? I want to see if it still works when we get the coupon.

If they were feeling really generous they would make BluRays around $20. But seeing as 20 =/= 10 it probably won't happen.

And hopefully they will restock a few products before the code expires.

I would love some of the out of stock items to become available again as well. Although considering the sale will be happening next week sometime; I doubt they'll have time to restock by then.

Not entirely true... Gundam MS the 08th Team collection was out of stock last week and then post sale came back instock, so some things may come back instock depending on how long they've been out of stock for.

Every company that offers BPAY as a payment option has their own identifying biller code and when you make an order or get a bill, you get a reference number for that order or bill... you can then pay via online banking. All you do is enter the biller code, the order/bill reference number and the amount you want to pay.

You can also pay by phone if you do phone banking.

Just making sure here.. do we have to sign up for the newsletters AGAIN, or are we ok with our current newspletter subscriptions? I bet most of them already. have done so for like a million years now. Smile

..and yes, my mum is signed up for most of them as well, so we are going to have to make sure we don't accidentally buy the same titles twice lol. I bet we will still accidentally double up on some tho, due to enthusiasm. Very Happy

Yeah, I've been wondering that also... I hope they'll release it either on the weekend sometime or later in the evening, if its a weekday release, like 10pm (in keeping with the whole '10' theme) as I work til 7.30pm every weeknight and have restricted internet access at work. Sad

I think the $10 collections were a glitch in the system. I doubt they will stick around this time, although, here's to hoping they do, there are collection I forgot to get last time, or didn't know about that I want now.

If it's anything like last time, they just gave them out and they had a few days for expiry

They should have left those collections at $10 to make up for the mess on sunday IMHO

Or all box sets at $10 would work nice Wink
Hell even all box sets at $30 would be pretty nice...

Not all

Most of the of those $10 collections are not that new. So most of the costs involved in terms of licences, etc should be almost recovered by now.

I mean they could say spend this much (like $250 or $500) in the $10 sale and choose from a selection of collections to get free or $4 a disc or $10 total or something

There are a few boxsets that I wanted in that list, I just hope the ones I want are still gonna be $10.

We've fixed the $10 collection mistakes. So don't expect to see them in this new sale Razz

Awww.. Mad Razz

C'mon Sly.. Most of those sets (with the possible exception of Wolf's Rain) aren't exactly jumping off the shelves, I wouldn't have thought.. After all, they're ALL at least 3 years old in fatpack form, and between 3 and 8 years or more old overall.
I would have thought Madman would be glad to sell copies of most of them. Just about every store I go into seems to have copies of these ALL the time.. They NEVER seem to sell any though..

I was pretty sure they would fix that as it goes against the outlines of the sale ($10 per disc not per set) and also because so many people mentioned it there was no way they were going to miss it. I'm glad they mention that they fixed it though saves time looking for those sets unless you really want them and you feel the price is still a good one.

Its not as if they owe us anything as it is, other than common things that all companies try to do for thier customers anyway.

I feel sorry for Madman. I picked up a few of those $10 collections. Got my order today so I have something to watch now.

Gotta strike while the iron is hot I guess.

I think we're already being quite generous in offering a second chance Razz

Pretty sure all the people who sat at their computers for hours trying to access the sale and getting nothing but time outs and broken Internets would not consider this a "second chance". More like finally getting a first go! Razz

If anyone is feeling Nostalgic.. Take a look over this monster.. Massive wobbly that was MadGate. While I am not quite sure we actually broke the servers as badly the first time, there was a hell of a lot more boohoo-ing and Dummy Spits. It was way more awesome. This one has really paled by comparison.

Then again.. I guess we are used to it by now, eh? Very Happy

Ever since madgate 1.0 I have had a link to that thread (so basically almost 4 years in my signature on the madboards Razz give or take a few months Razz)

So this whole thing gets lamer by the minute...
Although I will be completely happy if they get restocked in time.
