Sunday, August 7, 2011
Elder Hall at 2.30pm
North Terrace, Adelaide
Japanese/Australian Friendship Concert by the Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus and the Ino Mixed Chorus on Sunday, August 7, at 2.30pm at Elder Hall.
Ino, in the Agwa District, Kochi Prefecture, south west of Tokyo was not directly affected by the Japanese earthquake and tsunami. However, these tragic events have added poignancy to the planned joint concert.
Thirty members of the Ino Mixed Chorus will join a full-strength Adelaide Philharmonia Chorus for an afternoon of Japanese and Australian choral music.
Musical Director Aldis Sils has selected a range of choral favourites that will delight concert goers. The Ino Mixed Choir will also perform a selection of choral pieces in Japanese.
The Chorus will be accompanied by well-known accompanist and repetiteur Alexander Hanysz.
As a gesture of support audience members will be able to contribute to a Red Cross collection to raise funds for the Earthquake Appeal.
