So, apparently there's going to be a new DBZ movie next year.

Animation and direction by Dragon Ball veterans Tadayoshi Yamamuro and Masahiro Hosoda, screenplay by newcomer to the franchise Yūsuke Watanabe, whose previous work includes the Gantz live action movies, apparently with involvement from the big man himself, Akira Toriyama.

Hopefully Akira Toriyama will be involved, because we all know how those Gantz movies were...

Will this movie be realistic? If so, please let it be better than the last one. The last one had bulma with brown hair (lol) and the great apes were like weird, red-eyed demons.

Yeah when a Spirit Bomb is powered up and released in this movie it is remarkably close to the replication of a spirit bomb being powered-up and released in real life...

It's not live action.

DBZ has received 50 million yen of government funding. Apparently as part of a program which allows Japanese film-makers assistance with international endeavours.

I think it's safe to say it'll be coming to the west? Unfortunately, there's no word on whether Funimation will be involved anywhere or Fox will shoot off doing things on their own. I wouldn't want to see anyone other than Sean Schemmel as Goku in the English version of this...

~ IMO, movies have mostly devastated the original concepts and I'd won't like to see this one having the same fate. The problem is the sheet urge for "speed" of just showing things ~ but not doing it maturely where people would remember it for years (like 80's or 90's)....example is the Transformer list of crap movies...
