Let's talk PSP's as I haven't seen a thread yet so I decided to create one.

At the moment I have only played Resistance because that was the game I got with my PSP which I got today.

What happened to the old PSP thread? I just did a search and couldnt fine it either? I treid searching for it before this as well and it didnt turn up then either. I know there used to be one cos I can remember using it a fair bit back when I first got my awesome Simpsons Yellow PSP-2000.

DOn't think anyone with a brain would get a PSP Go. Its more expensive than the PSP, which is better featured. Plus, the PSP-3000 looks a hell of a lot better cos it comes in RED and PURPLE. Thats two massive wins right there. I am thinking of getting both!

I use my PSP less than I use my Wii, but I still peek getting stuff for it. There is some really cool exclusives. Resistance, Splinter Cell, Jeane d.arc, Crisis core, three MGS games (with one on the way), GoW-CoO etc. To me its worth it just for those titles alone, but have also picked up a few others along the way that were surprisingly entertaining. The Burnout games for example are great (as they are on other consoles as well), as was Star Wars Lethal Alliance. It was like a Star Wars Jak and Daxter, only with a hot Twilek! I liked it so much I went and bought the DS version just to see what the differences were.

If Santa does not leave the in my stocking, I am thinking about picking up a few more next year. The Personna remakes, Star Ocean Remakes, Assassins Creed, and the PSP version of GTA:CW.

I am picking up a PSP Go when I go to the US in about 2weeks. Here they are $399, there they are $249US, which with the awesome dollar and exchange rate is about $270AU. I mainly want it for Kingdom Hearts game on PSP that is coming out, go knows when, but I read the other day it might not be coming out to PSN at all. But I also want it for the comic service coming in December. Now I know the older PSP's can do all this also, but there is something I like about it, it's very sleek to me.

The reason you guys can't find the old PSP thread is because it doesn't exist.

The turquoise one is better. ^_^
As for PSP games though, *must have* titles are Patapon, Parappa the Rapper and Gitaroo Man Lives! Well.. For rhythm fans anyway.
Hopefully I'll be getting Assassin's Creed: Bloodlines soon too. I need an extra fix after finishing ACII. Although I could just play it again.. Which I just might do. *nod nod*

I've got a PSP, the original phat ones at that. Currently i only have 3 games for it, Smackdown vs Raw 2008, Daxter and one of the Ratchet and Clank games, i forget which.

Oddly enough i didn't have a memory stick for it until recently, a 2gb one when someone didn't want it as they upgraded to an 8gb one

I read somehwere a while ago so I can't confirm this but apparently Square won't be releasing Birth by Sleep on PSP Go because it has something to do with people downloading it illegally. I don't think it is though we will just have to wait till it is released.

I have an original 1000 model and a 2000 model I won from OPSM. I have ten UMD games. New batteries for both would be good (they're crap mainly through neglect Sad )

Does anyone use the Internet Radio function of the PSP?

I has a launch day PSP.

Dissidia: Final Fantasy is epic, as is Crisis Core. Got a copy of DJMax on the way too Smile

THe WIFI on it is buggered though... it keeps trying to tell me the WLAN button is off when its cleary not - the light is blinking.

PSP Go is not an option... too expensive, and doesnt let me play the games I already paid for. Bugger that crap.

I doubt that very much, more so that one has to use custom firmware to use illegally downloaded games and the Go has yet to be properly cracked from what i know but that said even the PSP 3000 has yet to be properly cracked for custom firmware use. The easiest to do it on is the 1000. Plus i don't even think that the Go has a memory card slot, i could be wrong.

I used it ages ago, it was alright, though at the time i think i was only on 512k internet, haven't tried it again.

As I said I doubt that it would happen. Square Enix would lose money if they didn't release it for PSP Go.

By all accounts, the PSP Go hasn't sold that well (Gee i wonder why Sony) so it's not like they're cutting a major part out, seeing as the amount of regular PSP owners are pretty high.

That said for them to not release it on Go would be to not put it on the PSN Store

Wooo! I don't think I have seen that one! Was in a limited edition or something? I must make a note to look out for it next time I am in a store. I can find excuses to buy two 3000s, but I don't think I can fine enough to buy three. If the turquoise is awesome, that means I will have to make a choice. I always hate that Sad

I have almost finished Resistance. It has been a good story so far but the main character Grayson is a bit of a prick.

I'm pretty sure it only comes in the LittleBigPlanet bundle pack (which was the same price as a regular console by itself anyway). It was released on the same day as Assassin's Creed II, so I couldn't get one, seeing as I needed to get both the black and white editions of ACII to get the two different figures. >_> I still plan on getting one, however, just not right now..

I think we had a general handheld thread?

My PSP is sitting unloved because I can't find the charger, and I prefer to use my iPhone for time-killing games anyway.

that we did.

i've got a original launch day chunky black PSP and one of those 3000 series titanium colour ones. only got the new 3000 one when the old one decided to only place certain games.

been playing FF: War of the Lions and Patapon 2 the most lately. FF:WofL is a time sink trying to unlock and master all job classes.

I didn't find Patapon 2 to be as good as the first. I like how it has more missions, but I don't particularly like the evolution chart. You need too many items to make a worthwhile army, and I don't have the patience to hunt a million times to level them up. Needless to say, it's sitting there unfinished. I'll probably go back to it one day. Might enjoy it more next time.. Maybe..

Same. I'm stuck... somewhere, and I know I need to evolve them, but there's so many different evolutions and crap and I just can't be bothered. Too much work. Blah.

I love my PSP ^^ got my old white one. Mostly it's spending its time playing Disgaea 1 or 2 lately. Sometimes i got back to the Tales of the world game aswell.
Got about another 20 games lying around for it i need to track down aswell. should really get back to Dissidia and keep using Terra for my "never set foot on the ground" attack style ^^; lol

My Squall is level 100, and has the Lionheart. I no longer need to play Dissidia - it is complete.

That said I did begin to level Terra as an experiment. Felt so weird trying NOT to go close range when I'm so used to constantly charging people down...

But Gundam vs Gundam NEXT Plus is due out in 4 days, if interested for more details ASK me!

That is all.

Also Stormo why did the old PSP thread disappear?

lol. i got the opposite problem. i tend to keep a distance while trying to use moves that'll force them to leave an opening for another move ^^;
then when they're not expecting it, charge em to set up to finish it Razz

You've reminded me of what I feel is most lacking with the PSP- trophy support. Surely they should've introduced that when they came out with the new model? Integrating it more into the PSN and with the PS3 would've certainly helped make it feel more like a 'family' of consoles...

I started Dragonball Z ShinBudokai: Another Road today. So far I've just been practicing with Future Trunks. Learning all of his combos.

Dissidia has it own achievement system, which even unlocks things for you. Good point though.

I got hold of DJ Max Black Square recently. So, so hard. And impossible to read the manual because its in Korean Razz

You, uh, know that adding a second thumbstick to the system wouldn't magically make those games work with two thumbsticks, right?

I got to fondle a PSPgo yesterday. They're terrifyingly flimsy.

So after spending nearly 4 days straight playing it.
My expected game, is pretty damn good and time consuming thus far, nowhere near finishingi it though.
I hope I don't remain the only madboarder to own Gundam vs Gundam NEXT Plus.

If you're a Gran Turismo fan, the PSP version of that is worth monies to get.

I have found that the PSP is great for final fantasy games, they are re-releasing all of them (well so far all the originals etc) remastered, which just means a boost in the graphics Very Happy

Just so you know i am a FF nut, i have the final fantasy crisis core PSP, crisis core, FF 1, FF2 and FF4 on my DS aswell as having played 6 7 8 10 10-2 12 and watching the first movie Very Happy

anyways why am i ranting about FF again?

Wow... I'm in Japan at the moment, and there are so many random PSP games that never make it out of here that its crazy.

Picked up Higurashi Daybreak the other day, which is interesting, to say the least. Pick 2 Higurashi characters, bash up other characters. Good fun Razz

I aso saw a random FMA:Brotherhood brawler the other day, may grab that too Razz

Though infinitely more frustrating : (more so due to the language barrier)

It seems like Japanese import games are becoming popular rather than waiting for the Australian or even the North American release date for it to be localised. Probably thats the path i would go for my future games?

Well not all games will get a localized released or are changed around. Bleach on the PSP i found frustrating (one of the earlier ones) due to the fact that some were mission/task based and of course there was that language barrier so it took forever to figure out what to do.

I know that one of the recent-ish DS Bleach games, the US version's story mode was more of a munted job over the way that the japanese versions were but the gameplay was pretty much the same
