Evangelion 3 is $39.95 on bluray, why so expensive?

There is a deluxe booklet that is included in this release, along with the slipcase the quality of the booklet is much more expensive to print than previously included booklets in 1.11 and 2.22. You will also find that the price is in line with some of our other movie BD releases such as those from the Studio Ghibli range.

The price is also still cheaper / in line with the overseas versions after conversion. We want to be able to bring the best product out for everyone given the extended period in getting this released. We hope you can understand.

Personally from what I see in the mock ups I really wish we got the normal slipcover so the films were consistently packaged (especially considering you went to the trouble of putting a slip on 1.11 after the release and some of us repurchased it as a result).
Although the price was one I expected as a lot of your higher profile films are that price on Blu-ray at the moment (Like Madoka: Rebellion, and the Ghibli films etc.). I'm quite happy with the price personally, and am excited for the release nonetheless. But I still wish we had the same slip as the first two films.

Unfortunately the booklet is just too big to fit into a normal slipcase. One of those good/bad problems.

But after all this time I'm just happy to be able to finally see it, is there a 4th film coming out?

Sometime. They're working on it. I think there were rumours of it debuting at the end of this year... but those came out early last year so take with an appropriately sized grain of salt.

Going off the booklet in my copy of the JP BD I totally know what you mean, that thing is pretty large.
