BTW I haven't seen any of the series but I did think the movie stood reasonably well on its own Smile

I really enjoyed the movie and can't wait to have it once the boxset is released. One thing that was really good was the fact that you didn't have to have watched the series in order to follow the film. I know some people who saw it first and not only did they greatly enjoy it but they went on to watch the series afterwards (and enjoyed that even more so.)

I didn't find it to be as good as the series but most people would probably agree with me on that.

Well crap Razz For some reason I was under the impression that it did but ah well. Yet another thing I'll have to buy once October comes around. Is there room for the movie in the box, because I may have been thinking of that, or am I mistaken about that as well? Embarassed

Yeah the Box has space for the movie, but since the movie was released by Colombia not Madman is does not actually contain the movie. Razz

In case you are wondering, there is room for the Best Sessions disc as well as Vol. 1-6 and the movie.

Loved the movie. Great characters, plot and music as usual but what really got me was the brilliant action and fighting sequences. I aslo found Cleaner-broom-fighting-SPIKE most sexacious.

Just letting people know, Big W had the Cowboy Bebop Movie in its catalogue I received today for $16.74. So if you dont have that movie, and have a Big W near you, GO AND LOOK FOR THE MOVIE!

I'm one of those people who did that I saw the movie in the cinemas and I absoulutely loved it. Then i saw the series and loved that too. Almost everything about the show is perfect the music, the animation, the characters, the voice acting and even the storyline. I hope they make a second series to it or atleast another movie. The next movie should be after the series because it kinda finished when it was really begining. By that I mean Faye was actually begining to come to terms with her feelings about Spike. Anyway it's a great movie and I would give it 10/10 and recommend it to anyone and everyone even if they have never watched anime before.

A second series? Bit hard when the main character is dead.
I heard CN tried to get sunrise to do a second series, but they refused.

Good on them. I hate it when creators make sequels just to make money.

I bought the CBB Movie on DVD, but I haven't got around to watch it yet. I haven't seen the series either. A quick question: Sould I watch the series 1st and the movie later, or is the movie self-contained enough to watch it independently? Does the movie contain spoilers for the series? What do ya reckon girls & boys? Very Happy

I watched the movie, but I haven't seen the series (although I 've heard a lot about it).

The main thing is that most of the favourite characters are already there, so series fans can enjoy seeing them. It does take their characters and relationships for granted, though, so first-timers may well be a bit confused about the whole setup.

If you've read a one-paragraph description of each of the main characters, you should enjoy this movie with no problems, as I did.

*sigh* Well, I'll have a look on Sunday but I don't have high hopes now.

If anyone wants to sell their CB movie, I'll buy it.

Yah, you'll need to watch at least part of the series first (the first DVD or two would be good) before the movie. The movie doesn't contain very many spoilers, but you won't know who everyone is and it works better if you do.

Technically, I think the movie fits in between eps 24 & 25, but you could watch it earlier than that as it is fairly stand alone.

The movie takes place between eps 23 and 24. It cannot take place after ep 24 because, well, things happen. Wink (Those of you who have seen the series will know what I mean).

Confused I was a little ambivilant about wheather i really liked or just liked the movie the first time I saw it. But after watching it about three times now, I kind of think of it as a big episode of CB, except with better animation, bigger fight scenes and more character development than a normal episode, and in a way I respect it for that. I thought the movie was good, but it didn't hold a candle to the TV series. I originally hoped the movie would focus on spike's past, which IMO was the most interesting part of the series.

I like the convience store scene and Ed is my favourite character. I prefer Cowboy Bebop in Japanese instead of English

My Bebop set is nearly complete. Just bought Cowboy Bebop The Movie yesterday!! Watched it twice, as you do. Loved every second of it. Very focused on Spike, damn hes smooth. Music seriously rocked as well... Plenty of alright bonus features on the disc aswell.

Man i absolutely LOVED the movie, i think it was better than the series, here are my reasons: It had a better soundtrack, i loved the fight scenes; they were so fluid and artistic, also i loved Vincent's dilemma, and of course the main reason, Spike is the deepest, coolest and most well rounded character in the world!! he epitomises the whole "hero with a past" character. Thats all just my opinion though...............

Oh, by the way requiem: he may not be. They only showed one star at the end when supposedly both of them.................... Wink think about it, if the producers were really greedy, they may exploit that................

The movie is great... we get to see Spike's softer side and its just as fun as any episode... only longer with more action...
I'd like to have seem more of Jet in action... he cool...
