I have to agree. I can't imagine anything else that would qualify as "BIGGEST Acquisition announcement ever".

Here's hoping we're not disappointed in our guessing. (Even though I already have all the region 2 Ghibli releases. Smile )

So if the Sakura Taisan movie is licenced, is there any chance for the TV series?

*is very curious about the Acquisition announcement*

Care to drop any hints Sly-kuuuuun? *flutters lashes*

YAY! for Azu Daioh and Sailormoon uncut! Very Happy

Another one I came up with would be Eva remastered - It would be a massive announcement, but probably not very likely.

Hmm, Big O series 2, Gravion, Macross, Mospeada, Southern Cross and the Sakura Wars movie are what I didnt know about. Im suprised they are getting all these sub only shows!

Grats to Tim of course!

Biggest ever announcement? Im curious now Wink

I would like to add that the new style newsletter is MUCH better than the previous few. This one seems alot more interactive than the old ones which simply laid down the facts. I love the new style and hope Slykura could just pass that on in the next email he sends off to MM as some positive feedback. Smile

Yes. The first 36 episodes of Robotech was the cut up version of Super Dimensional Fortress Macross.

My fingers are crossed for Cardcaptor Sakura. Yeah, I know, snowflake's chance in hell, blah blah blah fishcakes... but I can't help hoping that it's getting a local release. I'd be able to fill in the gaps in my collection with R4 DVDs instead of paying to import the R1 copies. Wink

fu fu fu, you're all thinking small...

It shall surely be Ranma 1/2 because Viz have pulled their heads out of their arse!

Think about it... 'big series'
SD Macross - announced
Mospeada - announced
Southern Cross - announced
Sailor Moon uncut - announced
DB, DBZ (bleh), DBGT - out and announced
The Slayers - out
The Slayers Next and Try - not announced... hmmm... maybe... but it's not 'huge' enough
Transformers - coming...

Could be Patlabor... maybe a Gundam series... Naruto, Hunter X Hunter and One Piece haven't been licensed yet... original Bubblegum Crisis, original Dirty Pair.... Project AKO? Fist of the North Star TV.... Kodomo No Omocha... To Heart...

hmmm could be a Tenchi Muyo series.... but I'm thinking it has to be a series that hasn't previously seen a release in any form...

Hell, any 'small' 26ep series shouldn't warrant a 'BIGGEST acquisition announcement ever'.... I think... Cowboy Bebop, Trigun, Escaflowne, Eva... hmmm no other real 'fan favs' in recent years that haven't already been announced...

Could be a movie... ARGH...

*crosses fingers in vain attempt of coaxing R4 Ranma 1/2 out from Viz's greedy hands*

Ranma 1/2 is where all my monopoly money is....

Don't forget that to big the biggest announcement ever it has to beat Madman securing a decent cinema release for Spirited Away. You people have to think bigger! Ranma I suppose could be a contender, but personally I hope madman doesn't classify that as bigger than spirited away Smile
Maybe a cinema release of Ghost in the Shell: Innocence or something?

There's some interesting stuff there and look forward to a good few when they come out.

Novembers releases have been delayed a week. That was what I was told at the Cartoon Gallery today.

Detective Conan is at the 300 something mark...

Chibi Maruko-chan was at the 420 mark (According to Newtype)

Crayon Shin-chan I couldn't tell you...

I doubt any of these though ;p

It could be Wolf's Rain or Gundam SEED. Also any Viz title would be good and Technoman would be awsome if they could grab the masters from someone. If they did that, and it doesn't have a US release, then MM would for the time being hold a very big lure to anime fans.

MCOG and Ulysses31 I would also rank due to the above remark.

and would you say that it would be a BIG effort to release it on dvd? Razz

Actually, maybe the announcement is some title with a parallel release schedule with the US? that would be pretty big. Razz
